EMS ISD Launching Limited Open Enrollment For Students Outside of EMS ISD

Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD is making an exciting change with the introduction of a Limited Open Enrollment program.

The new initiative will allow students who live outside EMS ISD boundaries to apply to attend select district campuses, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.

The application window for out-of-district families will open May 11 and run through June 11. Enrollment will be limited to select campuses and be based on specific criteria, including a student’s academic performance, behavior, and attendance history. Families must also provide transportation.

District officials emphasize that the program is designed to be carefully managed, ensuring that current students continue to receive a high-quality educational experience while allowing the district to grow strategically.

Campus participation in open enrollment will depend on available space and staffing. Not all schools will be open for enrollment, as the district evaluates each campus based on its ability to support additional students without impacting class sizes or student services.

As EMS ISD continues to adapt to a changing educational landscape, leaders say this initiative helps position the district to remain both competitive and financially strong.

The district remains committed to its mission of fostering a culture of excellence that instills a passion for a lifetime of continuous achievement in every student.
